Here at Lumos, we believe that every student should be recognized, supported, and encouraged in their learning career. The founder of Lumos Arts Academy realized traditional educational practices were failing most students in Arizona and across the United States. This vision sets the foundation and core belief that every child should learn based on individual needs.

Our highly qualified faculty facilitates instruction on the learning style they prefer, which allows every student to be successful. The Fine Arts curriculum supports our students' creativity and talents by providing all students with a comprehensive educational experience that allows students to discover their abilities.

Why We Are Unique

Lumos prides itself on being a unique K-12 arts school. We offer unparalleled opportunities for students to explore the arts and personal growth through our different programs, courses, and activities, such as:

Small Class Sizes

Our Average class size ranges from 15-20 Students! We strive to meet every student’s needs within the classroom.

Weekly K-12 Forum

All students meet for Forum! This is when we bring in guest speakers, play team-building games, or have small student-led performances.

Prioritizing Connections

One of our main priorities as a school is to ensure that every student has a place to find their passion. We strive to build strong teacher-student and student-student relationships. We believe every child should be a priority and supported during their time at school.

Our Curriculum

We provide a curriculum drawn from the Arizona State standards and the Gifted/Advanced curriculum. Teachers use cooperative learning, group work, independent research projects, literature-based instruction, multiple resources, authentic assessment to promote equity in education by building a base of knowledge for all students.

Multiple Arts Performances

As an Arts school with a project-based curriculum, our student performers have the opportunity to showcase their talents not only during several live performances but also via the fantastic world of digital media. This includes but is not limited to short films, recorded sketches, music videos, and production of original music using digital composition software.
